March 3, 2008 - Bill Pitkin, Marlborough Stirling Canada (MSC) President and CEO, is pleased to confirm that MSC's hosted mortgage services have once again been the subject of a CICA 5970 audit to evaluate the standardized controls and procedures within the IT infrastructure supporting our application service provision operations.
As in the previous two years, we engaged PwC to examine our internal controls and report on our level of adherence to the standards set out in the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA) handbook, section 5970 - Audit Reports on Controls at a Service Organization.
A copy of the most recent description of these controls and PwC's unqualified opinion on the design of these controls is available to our customers and their auditors.
Marlborough Stirling Canada’s hosted mortgage solution IT infrastructure, including MorWEB, Omiga and Optimus, was reviewed focusing on the following control domains: administration and organization, software development, change management, security and operational controls.
Bill Pitkin comments: "This is the third consecutive year that we've completed this type of audit exercise and once again we are very pleased with our results. Our hosted technology services are relied upon by our clients to support their daily operations, so the standards we employ are critical to ensuring that security, technical infrastructure and operational objectives are consistently met at all times."
